Silverstone Distillery Heritage No1 Gin and Heritage No2 Vodka take home a gong each in the prestigious IWSC awards.
What a whirlwind few weeks it's been for our little distillery that's just getting into its stride after a terrible year! Not only have we recently been nominated in the local Muddy Stilettos and Northants Life Awards, but to now have official recognition of our spirits in the form of not one but two bronze awards from the IWSC is just totally breathtaking!
Among thousands of entries (in the Gin category alone!) from more than 90 countries across the globe, our humble Heritage No1 Gin and Heritage No2 Vodka impressed the judges enough to want to award us with these fabulous awards.
How Does It Work?
The IWSC (International Wine and Spirit Competition) sets the international benchmark for quality, ensuring recognition for the very best wines and spirits for over 50 years! Over 80 experts were tasked with tasting over 4,000 spirits during this year's IWSC awards and all judges were expertly guided by the Spirit Judging Committee, which oversees all panel chairs and judges.
The judges all tasted our Gin and Vodka in a 'Double-Blind' process which saw all spirits in pre-poured, numbered glasses with no bottles in sight! They each independently scored the spirits and these were then all taken into account for the final scores.
However, not every entrant is a winner and only 60% of entries received a medal, from bronze to the highest accolade of gold outstanding.
Due to the rigorous judging process, it goes without saying that receiving accolades from the IWSC, the world's largest and most influential international spirit award, is no mean feat and we're rightly very proud of what we have achieved in such a short space of time!

We would like to formally thank all of the IWSC judges who tasted and enjoyed our spirits and awarded us as a result, it means so much to us as a new start-up in such a competitive industry. But we also wish to thank every customer of Silverstone Distillery who has supported us on our journey so far and providing valuable feedback for us to develop and grow.
We look forward to producing many more award-winning spirits of the highest standards from our distillery here in Silverstone and can't wait to add a few more gongs to our mantlepiece soon!
